The Yakutat Bay and its numerous forested islands form the base of the tallest coastal mountain range in the world. Be sure to capture their beauty with a camera.
Apart from bed-and-breakfast accommodations with private entrances and baths, you can find comfortable vacation rentals overlooking the magnificent views of Yakutat Bay and the Wrangell-St. Elias mountain range.
About Your Trip
Alaska Airlines offers daily flights to Yakutat from Seattle, WA, and Anchorage. Flight 61, the morning flight, departs Seattle, makes a stop in Juneau, and then flies to Yakutat around 11:00 a.m. Flight 66 departs from Anchorage, stops in Cordova, and lands between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. You can reach the airlines by phone at 1-800-426-0333 or via their website.
To view the Inside Passage, you can take an enjoyable boat ride from Bellingham, WA, or Prince Rupert, Canada, to Juneau. There will be stops at little towns along the way where you can disembark and explore the neighborhoods close to the docks.
You can take another ferry from Juneau to Yakutat if you have enough time or schedule a flight with Alaska Airlines to reach your destination quickly. Although there are no roads leading to Yakutat, traveling there by ferry or plane is an adventure.
